The Winter Youth Camp by Elite Basketball Program will take place in Escola Amélia Rey Colaço (Linda-a-Velha) between the 17th and 21st December, directed to athletes born between 2003 and 2009.
Our main concern is still the quality of practice and we will continue to bet strongly on the individualization of the training plans. Each athlete will be part of a group (up until 7 athletes) with similar training necessities where each aspect of the game will be specified specifically for each group.
We want to develop all the areas of players game, whether they happen to be athletic-specific skills, basketball skills or even tactical decision-making. The individualization of practice comes with a cost, which is a 40 slots-only capacity. Our success is not measured by the number of athletes that attend the camp but the REAL evolution of each athlete.
This basketball camp is neither a traditional summer camp, nor a specific-skill camp. The approach on this camp is about assessing each athlete's needs and addressing them as efficiently as possible. A typical day will start at 9.30am (the athletes can arrive as soon as 9am) and end at 5pm (the athletes can stay until 5.30pm). Lunch is given by us after morning sessions. Each player will receive a camp t-shirt.
All our coaches have an appropriate academic background and also a rich curriculum in basketball. We will be visited by an athlete that works regularly with us in the summer at Elite Camp to talk about their experience and respond to all the questions the young athletes might have. Carlos Andrade (SLB – LPB), Arnette Hallman (UD Oliveirense – LPB), Márcia Costa (GDESSA - Liga Feminina), Joana Ramos (SLB – Liga Feminina), Francisco Amiel (Colgate University – NCAA 1) among others have been present in recent camps.
Athletes born in 2003 and 2004 can be invitated to work side-to-side with these experienced athletes at the Elite Camp if they show the right commitment to training.
From 9.00am until 5.30pm
